2016 Honorees:  Clients and Counsel, MorningSide v Sabree

We are pleased to honor Covington & Burling LLP, and the courageous homeowners who have joined with the ACLU of Michigan to challenge the illegally inflated Wayne County property taxes pummeling African-Americans in Detroit. Covington is co-counsel in the case of MorningSide v Sabree, a lawsuit by the ACLU of Michigan and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund to end the onerous, unfair tax policies currently forcing masses of working-class blacks from their homes through foreclosure.
