There is no more important right in our democracy than the right to vote. Unfortunately, those who seek to suppress the vote have erected obstacles that make it more difficult to vote – especially for people of color, students and the elderly.
The ACLU of Michigan Metro Detroit Branch invites you to discuss the crucial issue of voter suppression with Legal Director Michael J. Steinberg, NAACP General Counsel of Detroit Butch Hollowell, and Pat Selby from Project Vote.
Much is a stake and everyone who is eligible to vote must be allowed to vote. All three of our panelists represent organizations with campaigns to combat voter suppression. Come and learn how to protect the right and make sure that every voice is heard!
This event is co-sponsored with the Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan, the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights and the Marygrove College Social Justice Program.
