Deborah Patrick, ACLU of Michigan Special Events Manager

Great theatre, inspiring dialogue, Hollywood celebrities, fabulous meals, the gathering of people with like minds — these are just some of the things you’ll experience when you attend a special event hosted by the ACLU of Michigan.

Add to it the opportunity to meet and network with peers, volunteer for causes close to your heart, and join the front line in the fight to protect and defend civil liberties and what you have is an exciting way to support the ACLU of Michigan.

Special events raise funds, attract new audiences and give us an opportunity to educate and inspire.

Up next on our calendar is a special performance of “Radio Golf” at the Detroit Repertory Theatre.

The final installment in August Wilson’s unprecedented 10-play cycle chronicling African American life in the 20th century, Radio Golf is Wilson’s prescient tale of a young African American man aspiring to high political office and the difficult choices he must face along the way.

Called “surprising, suspenseful and crowd-rousing" by The New York Times, Radio Golf has “crackling comedy, engaging snap and theatrical zest.”
