It's getting closer to becoming another bad Michigan law: This Wednesday, March 18, the Michigan House will vote on legislation that would give adoption agencies the power to deny couples the freedom to adopt or foster children who are in need of good, stable homes.

People with disabilities are too often treated as second class, shunned and segregated by physical barriers and social stereotypes. They are discriminated against in employment, schools, and housing, robbed of their personal autonomy, sometimes even hidden away and forgotten by the larger society. Ensuring equal access for those with disabilities is a core guiding principle of the ACLU of Michigan.

On May 31, 2008, approximately 130 members of the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit gathered for a monthly event featuring music and dancing.

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals has become the latest federal appeals court to consider the question of whether law enforcement needs a warrant before it obtains cell phone location data. We have (with allies) filed an amicus brief in this case, as we did in cases now pending in the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits.
