DETROIT - Today the ACLU of Michigan and Voting Access for All Coalition sent letters to sheriffs in Michigan reiterating the right to vote for people who are incarcerated statewide and awaiting trial.
In Michigan, people who are incarcerated pre-trial can vote. The ACLU and nonpartisan Coalition, Voting Access for All, are seeking to ensure that people who are incarcerated understand their right to vote.
See below the template letter send to sheriffs as well as an FAQ on voting rights for people who are, or have been, incarcerated.
