Voting Rights Advocates Thank Clerks for Conducting a Successful Primary Election

DETROIT — A coalition of organizations dedicated to ensuring Michigan’s elections remain fair and accurate applauds local clerks across the state for conducting a successful Primary Election.

Our local clerks ensure every eligible voter is able to cast a ballot, and that the outcome accurately reflects the will of the voters. That happened again this election.

This success wouldn’t be possible without the community members who sign up to be poll workers, maintain polling locations, and carry out the checks and balances that protect every ballot.

That is because our elections do not belong to any politician. They belong to the people who entrust our local clerks and election workers to protect our elections and our voting rights. With the Primary Election behind us, the next target is the General Election, on Nov. 3. As with the successful Primary that just concluded, we urge Michiganders across the state to join the effort to protect democracy by volunteering to serve as a poll worker to help make that election equally successful.
