Emily Wine joined the ACLU of Michigan as the Executive Assistant in July 2025. Born and raised in Detroit, she is a lifelong Michigander with a strong commitment to social justice.

Emily attended Michigan State University and, more recently, Northwestern University’s School of Professional Studies. She brings a wealth of experience as an executive administrative professional from both small businesses and nonprofit organizations, most recently serving as Chief of Staff at a local independent school. In that role, she was a strategic thought partner to the Head of School, a member of the Executive Leadership Team, and a co-facilitator of the school’s DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice) program—working closely with parents and guardians to foster an inclusive environment.

Emily excels at balancing big-picture strategy with attention to detail, and she is honored to bring that skill set to the ACLU of Michigan as she supports the organization's mission to protect and advance civil liberties throughout the state she calls home.
