Liz Balck is a policy strategist at the ACLU of Michigan, based in West Michigan. In this role, Liz works alongside advocates, lawmakers, and stakeholders to advance immigrant rights, protections for privacy and free speech as well as criminal-legal reform. Before joining the ACLU, Liz practiced immigration law for 12 years, representing clients on family-based and humanitarian immigration matters for a non-profit organization as well as in private practice. Liz previously worked in the Michigan legislature as the district director for a state senator, where she worked on a broad range of policy issues implicating civil liberties.
