DETROIT–The ACLU of Michigan and AACRL filed a federal lawsuit against Plymouth-Canton and one of its employees for violating the First Amendment Rights of a middle school student whose teacher repeatedly and public humiliated her for refusing to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
DETROIT – The ACLU of Michigan is disappointed that the Michigan Senate passed flawed legislation this week that is not evidence-based and that fails to respond to key aspects of a court ruling holding parts of Michigan’s Sex Offenders Registration Act (SORA) unconstitutional.
