2020 Starts Now: The ACLU Debate Watch Party (Detroit)

July 31, 2019 @ 7:00 pm
August 1, 2019 @ 9:45 pm
It's a cliché, but it's true — the next election will be the most important of our lifetime.

Michigan will be a battleground for many of the civil rights that Americans hold dear: reproductive freedom, criminal justice reform and voting rights. We must take a bold agenda and winning plan into the 2020 cycle. That hard work begins, not next year, but right now.

The July Democratic Debates are an opportunity to create this roadmap together. Building real power starts with ordinary conversations among the grassroots. We need your passionate commitment to civil rights.

We invite you to our Debate Watch Parties to get in the fight! Join us on July 30 in Grand Rapids + July 31 in Detroit. We will walk through our campaigns to end mass incarceration, safeguard abortion and more, as well as how these issues intersect with 2020.

Light refreshments provided. Parking available in our lot.

Disclaimer: The ACLU does not endorse or oppose candidates for office. We believe in educating voters about the issues at stake in key elections. Our voter education work is designed to protect and advance civil rights and civil liberties.
