This event is free and open to the public. We are holding afternoon and evening sessions, where a coalition of Michigan LGBT and eldercare service providers will help you:
  • learn about what programs exist to help you;
  • share your personal experiences and issues you feel are ignored by mainstream eldercare;
  • give us your opinion on how LGBT services can better help you.

Between sessions, there will be a presentation on LGBT rights from the ACLU of Michigan and dinner sponsored by Medilodge of Southfield.

Program:

2:00pm-4:00pm   Afternoon session - includes panel and small group discussion led by professional facilitator

4:30pm-5:30pm   Dinner Presentation by ACLU of Michigan "Know Your Rights"

6:00pm-8:00pm   Evening session (repeat of afternoon)

Both sessions are identical and offered to provide flexibility and accessibility for partipants.

The summit is sponsored by a coalition of community members and organizations who are interested in better serving the needs of our LGBT older adults, including: ACLU of Michigan, Adult Well Being Services, Affirmations, Citizens for Better Care, Equality Michigan, Jewish Gay Network, the Jim Toy Community Center, MediLodge of Southfield, and S.P.I.C.E.
