DETROIT- The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan filed a motion for preliminary injunction today, asking the federal district court to require the State of Michigan to recognize the marriages of hundreds of same-sex couples who were married in Michigan on March 22, 2014.
Update: The State of Michigan has backed off of an unconstitutional policy preventing sitting U.S. Representative John Conyers from being on the August ballot.

WASHINGTON – In a 6-2 decision today, the Supreme Court overturned a lower court and ruled that Michigan’s Proposal 2 is constitutional. Proposal 2 is a 2006 ballot initiative that led to a state constitutional ban on race-conscious college admissions policies in Michigan.
